Colorectal Cancer Screening Programme

Subsidised bowel cancer screening for eligible Hong Kong residents, arranged and followed up here at the clinic.

CRCSP

What it is

Bowel cancer is one of the most common cancers in Hong Kong, and one of the most treatable when it is caught early — often before it causes any symptoms at all.

The programme subsidises a stool test (a faecal immunochemical test) done at home. If the test is positive, the programme also subsidises a colonoscopy to find out what caused it.

A positive test does not mean cancer. It means there is blood in the sample that needs explaining, and a colonoscopy is how that is done.

Who it is for

Hong Kong residents within the age range set by the Department of Health who have no bowel symptoms and no existing bowel disease.

What we do here

Enrolment in the programme, the test provided and processed, your result explained, and referral for colonoscopy arranged if it is needed.

What to bring

Your Hong Kong Identity Card — eligibility is checked against it.

Your current medicines, and any recent test results or hospital letters.

Eligibility criteria and subsidy amounts are set by the Government and can change. The official page below is always the final word — or call us on 2267 7899 and we will check for you.
